All Members: Mandatory wearing of face coverings in indoor spaces

Please see details outlined  in email below in respect to the by-law for mandatory wearing of face coverings in indoor spaces and a link to register for an upcoming webinar to learn more.

As announced on June 30, 2020, Toronto City Council voted to make wearing non-medical masks or face coverings mandatory in indoor spaces. This by-law comes into effect on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Anyone entering your business (both customers and staff) will have to wear a mask or face covering or be refused entry.

Please join in a free webinar on Friday, July 3rd  to learn more about the by-law, what it means for your business, how to comply, enforcement, and how you can help keep everyone in Toronto safer during the COVID-19 pandemic. Register here:

The webinar will be delivered by Dr. Vinita Dubey, an Associate Medical Officer of Health with Toronto Public Health, with support from the Economic Development and Culture Division.

This webinar is intended to convey municipal government requirements at time of writing on wearing masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. These requirements may change as the situation changes; please visit for the latest information.

If time allows, we will answer live questions during this webinar. If you have a question, please post it in the question or chat box; we will not take voice questions due to the high levels of background noise from unmuting attendees' microphones. For complex questions or questions that we don't have time for, we will answer them collectively by e-mail after the webinar.

Thank you
