The City is currently looking at ways to reduce single-use and takeaway items in Toronto. This includes public consultation on what items to target and what approaches to take. It also supports the Waste Strategy’s recommendation to explore the City’s ability, including restrictions, bans or fees, to achieve greater waste reduction and diversion.
In addition to public consultation activities, two stakeholder meetings are being held to share information and to receive feedback on the items, approaches and timelines being considered.
Please note that space is limited and organizations are asked to send one representative to attend. The same information will be presented at each session, and will include time for questions and workshop discussions.
